Michalis Chatzilias, CEO and Founder of Akeydor Digital talks to the Greeco team about the company’s vision, strategic partnerships and future plans.

What is the company’s vision?

Since its inception in 2007, Akeydor focused on high quality customized software solutions, which at the time would simplify the day-to-day operations of organizations and reduce their daily operating costs – so we started then and continue today offering both to society and to the development of cutting-edge IT and technology in our country (and in Europe) with additional technologies. The annexation of new markets (Europe, Middle East, Central and South Asia and the current expansion into the US) offers both in competitiveness and new jobs and careers. We have been moving forward and steadily developing our same vision for nearly 20 years.

What do you think is what makes the company stand out?

It is always the same almost constant values that make a company/organization special, and the same at Akeydor: the people who train us, our unique and specialized technologies, and our ability to equip our customers in markets outside of Greece with our unique technologies and services. A manufacturer can entrust us with the expansion of their product into new markets, both in the western world and in the developing world – also the possibility of hiring partners and expanding through them makes Akeydor fast and unique in its operations.

What are the main products and services offered by the company?

Akeydor has always marketed specialised software solutions and cutting-edge technologies: From equipping Drones with software that analyze in high resolution 3D format landmarks and seas in order to study the land and sea for large projects, to remote/remote education of students/students in the world, to secure transfer of large files securely, to remote secure management of devices, computers, and machines, and so many other cutting edge technologies that as I mentioned before help organizations reduce their daily costs as well as simplify their daily operations.

Akeydor has established strategic alliances in both the UK and EU, as well as the Middle East. How important are these partnerships to the company’s growth?

You never do anything alone. You establish strategic alliances both with your partners, with your customers (who will certainly become partners), and with your own people in your company. The most strategic alliances for us are in the EME (Europe, Middle East) region, through which we have been able to equip major customers, and in the UK with customers who in time have become our strategic partners. Also, at important (but niche) exhibitions, such as Latitute59 in Tallinn, Estonia, they played a special role in establishing partnerships with professionals in a different zone from IT, but strategic for establishing partnerships around the world.

Is there a partnership that stands out and why?

They are all unique and each one gives us something different – either a different competitiveness, a different specialization, or different kind of customers (for example, 3D analysis technology for drones gives us access to different kind of large customers in the UK and Middle East). We treat each partnership as separate and unique to convey the same quality and focus to both our customers and our partners. This ‘organisation’ is strategic in nature.

How would you describe the company to someone who has never heard of technology using only five words?

Specialization, Direct, Reliable, Innovative, Efficiency.

What are the challenges Akeydor faces in today’s market?

The respective needs of customers are indeed increasing, but they are also changing at the same time every day. As a result, an organization that we do one day, takes on a different character the next – this is logical as the needs and technologies, their versions and features are constantly changing – so we on our part must also be direct in communicating with both our customers, vendors and partners to communicate these constant changes every day effectively. We have been doing this successfully for 20 years as speed and efficiency are part of the character of Akeydor’s people. That’s where we make a difference.

Would you like to share with us some of the company’s future expansion plans?

We already have access to several markets in the world: Middle East, European countries, recently and Eastern Europe (and Baltic), as well as our recent effort to gain market share in the US. Therefore, our plans are not geographical as most companies in Greece have (we already have geography on our side) but technological: That is, to acquire new technologies to equip and develop organizations in these countries. Again, our speed and efficiency in communications are strategic areas for us.

Akeydor participates in conferences and exhibitions around the world. What are your plans for 2024?

Every year we participate in the following exhibitions in order to define our presence in the region, and to show our products to both our partners and customers there: That is to make Show case both our products and our company, in order to create new partners and potential customers:

  • London Tech Week
  • Big Data Expo Amsterdam
  • SIMO Madrid
  • Latitute59 Tallinn (technology center in Europe)
  • GESS Dubai
  • Channel Partner Expo Atlanta & Vegas

This year we plan to attend exhibitions in Central Asia with a focus on Mongolia and Kazakhstan in order to present the company and a specific product group in those markets, with the aim of creating new partners.
